Finding Design Inspiration Online

Design websites are a great resource whether you want to keep up-to-date with the latest developments or simply find inspiration for your next design project. The best ones will provide inspiration and information on suppliers or events in the design world. Here’s just a few of the biggest and best design websites to get you started.

Dezeen
dezeen.com

Dezeen is a leading online magazine showcasing the very latest in interiors, architecture and design. You can subscribe to their newsletter for regular emails about what’s new on their site. A great feature is their list of current job openings within design in the UK and abroad. This is updated regularly so make sure to check it frequently for relevant job openings.

Design Milk
design-milk.com

This is a design blog featuring interior design, architecture, furniture, home decor, art, style and technology. You can subscribe for updates that you can receive either daily or weekly. For those of you with furry friends they have a sister site dedicated to design for dogs called Dog Milk! Similar to Dezeen, they also have a job board where you can search for relevant postings.

Yatzer
yatzer.com

Yatzer has a focus on art, architecture and design but also fashion and experiences. Yatzer’s content is highly curated with a focus on beauty and craftsmanship. This site is easy to navigate and includes a handy ‘Agenda’ section, which highlights various exhibitions and events worth attending in the design world. As with the others, you can subscribe to get all the latest information to your inbox.

Yellowtrace
yellowtrace.com.au

Another great source of design inspiration, this site is loved by interior designers the world over. They cover everything design related but with a particular focus on architecture and interior design. As with the others, you can subscribe for regular updates. They offer in-depth digital reports of all the happenings at Milan Design Week and Salone Del Mobil. Even if you attended, the Milantrace 2018 digital report will cover everything you might have missed at this huge event.

The Cool Hunter
thecoolhunter.net

The Cool Hunter is a leading online resource for everything cool, innovative and original in the design world. From interiors and architecture to fashion and lifestyle; this website showcases relevant and leading design ideas that step away from current trends and fads. They have an online shop as well as a permanent boutique in Melbourne, Australia where you can purchase highly curated gifts, art and accessories.

Maison & Objet
maison-objet.com

Whilst primarily known for being a home décor fair in Paris, the Maison & Objet website also has much to offer in terms of finding new and exciting suppliers. From their main website you can navigate to Maison & Objet Paris. The former is useful if you are unable to attend the fair in Paris and want to explore the range of exhibitors and suppliers. What is useful in particular, is you can filter through the exhibitors by country, so if you are working on a project overseas, you can find suppliers local to your project.

Design Sponge
designsponge.com

This great blog covers everything in the design world from interiors to objects and fashion. As well as inspiration, you can also find handy advice on starting your own business, cooking and easy DIY craft projects. There are even travel guides for the design conscious traveller to help you make the most of your getaway. Again, you can subscribe for regular updates.
